COOKEVILLE – Cookeville Regional Medical Center proudly welcomes neurologist Jay Turkewitz, M.D. to its medical staff as a neurohospitalist. Along with neurologist Dalia Miller, M.D., he will be seeing patients admitted to the hospital with neurology concerns and/or disorders.
Board certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, Dr. Turkewitz comes to Cookeville from Baptist Hospital in Nashville where he served as a neurohospitalist and medical director of the Neurophysiology Lab. He received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1976. He performed his internship in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital Center (affiliated with Columbia University) in New York and a residency in Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. With more than 32 years’ experience in the field of neurology, Dr. Turkewitz is board certified in Neurology and in Electromyography. He is one of the first dedicated neurohospitalists in the country dating back to the 1990’s.
