COOKEVILLE – The Cancer Center at Cookeville Regional now offers a support group for men who have experienced prostate cancer. The support group is scheduled to meet the second Wednesday of each month for one hour starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Cancer Center at Cookeville Regional, 1 Medical Center Blvd in Cookeville.
“Learning to Cope through Knowledge and Hope” is the slogan for this support group.
“Now that this group has met, there is a sense among the group that there is strength in the number of men that attend. Many have expressed the value in gathering together in an environment where they all share a common bond,” said Thirman Bulluck, facilitator of the prostate cancer support group at Cookeville Regional. “This group is a place to be encouraged and refreshed in the prostate cancer journey and battle, just hearing the experiences of others is enlightening. Once diagnosed with prostate cancer the resulting emotions might surprise you. This community is where you can vent and gather information to live through the process and grow. We welcome new members to the group anytime.”
