The CRMC Pet Therapy Dog Program Announces Its 2014 Calendar

pettherapyCOOKEVILLE – Join the pet therapy dogs for a release of their 2014 calendar on Friday, Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1: 00 p.m. in the main lobby of Cookeville Regional Medical Center. All the pet therapy dogs will be there and we’ll be ready to celebrate the start of the eighth year of the Pet Therapy Program of the Auxiliary at Cookeville Regional.

“This will be a wonderful time to come out and have fun with our pet therapy dogs and learn more about the program.” said MaryDell Sommers, volunteer chair of the Cookeville Regional Pet Therapy Dog program at. “When you purchase a calendar during the celebration you will be entered into a drawing to win a beautiful jewelry set, compliments of the Cookeville Regional Medical Center’s Gift Shop.”

This year the calendar is available in two sizes, both are $5 and 100 percent of the sales goes towards supporting needs of patients in the Cancer Center at Cookeville Regional. The calendars will also be available during November and December in the CRMC gift shop as well at the reception desk in the lobby of the Cancer Center.

Timeless Images, who is responsible for the beautiful calendar photography, and Sarah Johnson from Johnson Nursery, where many of the photographs were taken, will be joining the celebration on November 1. The Putnam County Friends of Animals president, Linda Westin and Christie Meyer of Thunderhawk Canine, who is responsible for the training of the certified pet therapy dogs, will also be stopping by to celebrate.

These calendars are helping patients. The Pet Therapy Fund gave $11,000 toward the purchase of “My Personal Treatment Journal” this year. The journal is given to every new patient and facilitates the organization of critical details unique to each patient’s treatment plan.

The Pet Therapy Program of the Auxiliary at Cookeville Regional invites the community to join them in supporting this unique program.

“We hope to enter 2014 ready to continue our efforts with a strong financial position,” said Sommers.
